Job Title: B2 Licensed Engineer (base)
Salary: £73,788 per annum plus £5,628 shift allowance
Location: Carterton, Oxfordshire
Aeropeople are currently recruiting for a B2 Licensed Engineer (base maintenance) on behalf of our client based in Carterton, Oxfordshire.
This is an opportunity to be part of a world leading aviation service provider, working for a company that is truly committed to the development of its employees. They are a vital part of the UK’s defence capability, delivering air-to-air refuelling and air transport services to the RAF and MOD. As a B2 Licensed Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring their aircraft remain airworthy, safe, and mission-ready. By certifying maintenance activities, leading technical tasks, and upholding the highest airworthiness standards, you will directly influence the reliability, performance, and operational availability of the fleet. Your expertise ensures that every aircraft leaving the hangar meets the strictest regulatory and safety requirements, contributing to the success of a nationally important aviation operation.
Reporting to the Base Shift Manager, the B2 Licensed Engineer will carry out and certify aircraft maintenance activities in accordance with regulatory and company quality standards. Working closely with the Shift Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring tasks are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently to meet operational demands and customer contractual requirements.
Please note that this role will involve working a mixture of day and night shifts (7.30am- 7.30pm and 7.30pm- 7.30am) and will operate on a rotation of 4 on/ 5 off, 5 on/ 4 off, 5 on/ 5 off and the cycle repeats.

This is an exciting opportunity, open to all B2 licensed engineers, with at least 1 type rating currently on their licence.
Main Responsibilities:
- Certify aircraft servicing and maintenance tasks within your scope of authorisation and in line with Quality and regulatory requirements
- Supervise and support technical staff, ensuring work is carried out safely and in accordance with approved documentation
- Take ownership of aircraft documentation, ensuring accurate and timely certification entries
- Control materials, tooling and equipment, maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Encourage open reporting and positive behaviours in line with a just culture
- Liaise with Technical Services, Planning and other internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues and meet schedules
- Promote and monitor Health, Safety and Environmental standards
- Escalate safety or disciplinary matters to the Line Manager as required
- Deputise for Senior Engineers when needed

About You:
- CAA B2 Licence with at least one type rating (A330 preferred but not essential) and valid Company Authorisation.
- Strong, proven experience certifying maintenance tasks within a Base Maintenance environment.
- Solid understanding of zonal maintenance working practices and the demands of operating within a structured maintenance system.
- Confident using industry-standard technical data systems, manuals, and time recording tools.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks, delivering work to required timescales and standards.
- Experience with structural repairs, modifications, and working on complex aircraft systems.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with internal teams and external partners.
- Experience mentoring and supporting the development of junior staff or less experienced engineers.
- Ability to respond to short-notice operational requirements, including AOG recoveries at deployed locations.
