B2 Covert Operations Governance and Support Officer
Social Security Scotland are looking for a colleague to join the Fraud Investigation branch as a B2 Covert Operations Governance and Support Officer.
This role is being offered on a Part Time only basis (0.6 FTE) and will be temporary for a period of 12 months maximum.
This role is vital in supporting the agency to meet its legal observations and protect its people and information. The job holder will provide governance support for the Counter Fraud branch of the Fraud and Error Resolution Unit.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities
- Acting in the capacity of Gatekeeper in requests for surveillance including previewing surveillance applications & associated documentation, monitoring returns and issuing reminders.
- Providing advice and collaborating with senior managers and other internal and external stakeholders in relation to legislation and codes of practice relevant to the use of Investigatory Powers.
- Maintaining control and records of documentation.
- Providing support in preparation for inspections by the Investigatory Powers Commissioner’s Office and assisting with any resultant actions.
- Assisting in the collation of official records and management information to meet obligations on reporting and inform service development and assurance provided to the Senior Responsible officer.
- Editing video footage.
- Handling evidential productions securely.
- Other ad hoc duties relevant to the role.

Duration of Temporary Opportunity
This opportunity will be for up to 12 months in duration.
Hybrid Working
We embrace a hybrid working style where all colleagues will spend time in either our Glasgow or Dundee offices. This role can only be offered as Part Time (FTE 0.6 / 21 hours). The location will be High Street, Glasgow and the days will be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. It is also expected that Thursdays would be the day that you would attend the office.
