B2B Growth & Business Development Manager
We are looking for a bright, energetic, and commercially minded B2B Growth & Business Development Manager to raise the profile of IKONYX and 3fD, identify the right prospects, and generate credible new-business opportunities.
We are a 26-year-old creative design and engineering consultancy based in Whitchurch, Hampshire. We work on technically complex products and medical devices, as well as innovative products bringing genuinely new ideas to market.
It is a friendly, collaborative team and a genuinely creative place to work, with a constant mix of new ideas, design challenges, and products being developed, tested, and brought to life. We also have a lovely working environment in Whitchurch — very different from a typical corporate office. Whitchurch, Hampshire (RG28) is between Winchester, Andover, Basingstoke, and Newbury.
The Role
This is a hands-on growth and business development role. Your job is to make sure IKONYX and 3fD are consistently visible wherever the people we want to work with are looking, talking, and researching — and to actively identify and approach the companies we should be talking to.
Around 30–40% of the role is proactive business development and targeted cold outreach. This involves identifying the right companies, finding key decision-makers, and making contact through LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, email, HubSpot, and other appropriate channels.
To support these outreach efforts and lay the groundwork for direct contact, the majority of the work (around 60–70%) will focus on building overall visibility, presence, and demand.
LinkedIn will be a major part of this — keeping the IKONYX and 3fD pages active, developing posts and campaigns, commenting intelligently on relevant discussions, engaging with target companies and individuals, contributing to industry groups, and making sure we are part of the conversations happening in our market.
It also goes wider than LinkedIn. You will look for opportunities across trade media, industry groups, editorial, case studies, website content, search, and other relevant channels to build credibility and warm up key prospects. We want someone who can look at a market, spot an opportunity, decide who we should be getting in front of and then build coordinated activity around it.
You will help us:
- Keep IKONYX and 3fD highly visible across LinkedIn and relevant industry conversations
- Plan and run targeted B2B campaigns
- Identify sectors, companies, and individuals that represent genuine commercial opportunities
- Build focused target lists using LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other relevant sources
- Find the right decision-makers and make contact through LinkedIn, email, HubSpot, and other appropriate channels
- Develop targeted outreach around specific sectors, companies, and opportunities
- Engage intelligently with target businesses through posts, comments, groups, and direct interaction
- Identify relevant LinkedIn and industry groups and make sure we are contributing rather than simply observing
- Take technical and commercial stories from within the business and turn them into useful campaign material
- Repurpose strong ideas into LinkedIn posts, articles, case studies, editorial opportunities, outreach material, and website content
- Identify relevant trade press and editorial opportunities
- Help build the body of useful online content that strengthens our visibility in search and AI-driven discovery
- Monitor target businesses for signals such as investment, new products, growth, launches, or manufacturing requirements
- Coordinate digital marketing activity where useful and make sure it supports the wider campaign
- Pass credible opportunities into the business quickly

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You will not be expected to personally carry out every specialist digital marketing task. The important thing is that you understand how channels such as paid advertising, search, website activity, and email fit into the wider campaign and make sure the right activity is happening.
Likewise, you will not be expected to arrive knowing every IKONYX or 3fD story on day one. Initially, much of the technical insight and raw material will come from people already inside the business. Your role is to recognize what is commercially useful, shape it, and make far more of it.
Over time, as you get to know the business, we would expect you to increasingly spot those opportunities and stories yourself.
Campaign analytics and detailed reporting are handled separately, so this role is very much about planning, creating, coordinating, prospecting, and executing activity.
About You
We imagine you will have around 5 years of solid B2B marketing, growth, demand generation, or business development experience and be ready for a role where you can take real ownership.
More importantly, you will be:
- Commercially curious. You enjoy understanding businesses, spotting opportunities, and working out why IKONYX or 3fD may be relevant to them.
- Strong at campaign thinking. You can move from an interesting market opportunity to a clear plan for who to target, what to say, and how to reach them.
- Naturally active on LinkedIn. You understand that visibility is not just about publishing posts. It is about engaging, commenting, joining discussions, following target companies, and being present in the right places consistently.
- Confident with outreach. You are comfortable identifying prospects, finding the right people, and approaching people you have never met through LinkedIn, email, and other direct channels.
- A good writer. You can take technical or commercial material and turn it into clear, engaging content for different audiences.
- Good at repurposing ideas. You can take one strong story and see how it could become a case study, article, LinkedIn campaign, group post, outreach message, or editorial opportunity.
- A doer. You are happy planning the campaign, creating the content, finding the prospects, and approaching them yourself.
- Targeted. You understand that a small number of carefully chosen companies can be far more valuable than hundreds of generic leads.
- Energetic and self-motivated. You see an opportunity and run with it.

Strong working knowledge of LinkedIn Sales Navigator and CRM tools such as HubSpot is expected. You should already be comfortable identifying target companies, finding the right people within them, and using LinkedIn and email as part of coordinated B2B outreach.
Experience in design, engineering, manufacturing, medical devices, technology, professional services, or another technical B2B environment would be particularly interesting, but it is not essential.
A degree is not essential either. We are much more interested in what you have done, how you think, and whether you can create momentum.
Why IKONYX?
You will have the freedom to make this role your own.
The work is genuinely varied — from medical diagnostics and complex engineered products to products moving from first concept through development, tooling, and manufacture. There is always something real, technical, and commercially interesting to talk about.
What we need is someone who can turn that activity into visibility, campaigns, conversations, and opportunities.
The aim is not only to generate enquiries today, but to make IKONYX and 3fD better known, easier to find, and more credible every month — while actively identifying and opening conversations with the companies we most want to work with.
If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
