About us

You've probably heard of Autotrader, but do you know what we're all about?

We're the most trusted, most visited automotive marketplace in the UK. A heritage brand and a tech innovator. We bring together vehicle buyers and sellers to give them real choices. Cars may be what we're best known for but we’re also the place for pretty much everything else on wheels, from e-bikes to caravans.

In the automotive world, change is a constant, that’s why we take our job of untangling the complex car-buying journey very seriously.

At our core, we’re all about people. We go our own way while embracing diversity and celebrating our differences. We dedicate ourselves to the idea that we work better together.

Autotrader is a beautiful, surprising and vibrant place to work. We might not be for everyone, but we could be perfect for you.

About the job

We’re looking for a Marketing Manager to join our Customer Marketing team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, providing cover while one of our colleagues is on maternity leave.

This is a varied role for someone who enjoys bringing people together, moving projects forward and turning complex ideas into clear, engaging marketing. You’ll lead and support campaigns that help our customers understand the value of Autotrader’s products, services, data and industry expertise.

Our Customer Marketing team has grown to 15 people and works across a broad mix of channels, including email, web, our CMS, social media and events. You will not need to be a specialist in every channel. What matters is that you understand how different channels can work together, can bring in the right expertise at the right time and can keep activity focused on the customer and the outcome.

In this role, you will lead end-to-end, integrated customer marketing campaigns across digital and offline channels including email, web, webinars, YouTube, and in-person events. You’ll turn complex product and business requirements into clear, data-driven marketing strategies and compelling stories that truly resonate with target audiences. By leveraging performance metrics and customer insights, you will continuously refine messaging to drive measurable impact.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

As a key collaborator, you’ll build strong cross-functional relationships to align priorities and deliver successful outcomes in a fast-paced environment. You will manage multiple projects with high attention to detail while keeping stakeholders informed every step of the way. Bring your ideas, knowledge, and constructive challenge to a supportive team where your input directly shapes our marketing success.

What we're looking for

You may already be a Marketing Manager, or be ready to step into a role with greater ownership and responsibility. Your experience could come from B2B marketing, CRM, digital marketing, content, product marketing, communications, agency life or another related field.

More important than your background is how you approach your work. We're looking for someone who can take ownership, build strong relationships and turn ideas into results.

You'll:

  • Have experience delivering marketing campaigns, customer communications or content programmes.
  • Be confident managing projects from brief to delivery, bringing stakeholders together and creating momentum.
  • Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with people at all levels.
  • Translate complex information into simple, engaging stories that resonate with customers.
  • Take a customer-first approach and use insight and data to shape decisions.
  • Be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bring curiosity, adaptability and a collaborative mindset.

Strong stakeholder management, clear communication, data-informed decision making and the ability to manage multiple projects are all key to success in this role.

Useful, but not essential

Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:

  • HubSpot or another CRM / marketing automation platform.
  • Slack or similar collaboration tools.
  • CMS platforms and website content management.
  • Webinars, video, YouTube or other digital content channels.
  • B2B, customer or proposition marketing.
  • Working in a technology, marketplace or fast-moving environment.
  • Collaborating with product, technology, sales, creative or customer-facing teams.
  • Working with agencies or external partners.

You don't need experience in the automotive industry, or a passion for cars. Curiosity is far more important. We're looking for someone who is excited to understand our customers, learn about a complex and evolving industry, and help communicate the value Autotrader brings to it.

Benefits

We’re offering a salary of £38,000 – £48,000, plus an additional 10% of your salary awarded to you in shares each year. These awarded shares will become yours in yearly instalments over the next three years, and you can choose to either sell them or keep them as shares.

You'll have 28 days holiday per year, and that's in addition to bank holidays and half day closures on Christmas and New Year's Eve.

That’s not all. You'll be enrolled in our pension scheme, where our standard contributions are 7% and employee contributions are 5%. We also have comprehensive private medical cover, enhanced family leave provisions, a car salary sacrifice scheme, share-save options, and much more.

We always want to give you the support you need and help prioritise your wellbeing, that’s why we provide access to 24/7 online GP and dentist, as well as specialist support for assisted fertility, gender dysphoria, menopause, period care plans and lots more.

On top of all that, our hybrid model, Connected Working, combines the best of both worlds – office and home working. You'll spend a minimum of 3 days a week in the office with your team, focused on collaboration and connection.

Additionally, we have our remote-first periods at set times during summer and winter. During these periods, you can work remotely anywhere in the UK and from certain locations abroad.

Alongside a wide range of benefits, we'll help you settle in with confidence from day one. If you're successful, one of the first things you'll experience is our tailored new-starter induction programme, Great Start, designed to help you feel welcome, connected, and set up for success.
