ROLE OVERVIEW
The Midweight Copywriter is a capable and detail-focused writer with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and effective copy across a range of clients, formats, and audiences. Working primarily within the B2B technology space, the role supports the delivery of high-quality creative work that aligns with client and agency objectives.
As part of the Creative Services department, the Midweight Copywriter works collaboratively with designers, motion graphics specialists, artworkers, strategists, and fellow writers to deliver integrated campaigns and content. The role requires strong writing skills, a proactive approach to interpreting briefs, and the ability to deliver work to a consistently high standard.
Building on existing copywriting experience, the Midweight Copywriter contributes to the success of the agency while continuing to develop craft, confidence, and strategic understanding, demonstrating the value of effective copy in helping clients achieve their business goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Creative Excellence
- Write high-quality copy across a variety of formats, potentially including social media, email, digital banners, web pages and longer-form copy
- Ensure that client style and tone of voice are maintained in written content
- Attend briefings where required
- Proof copy, recommending and highlighting any changes
- Undertake research as part of copywriting tasks

Collaboration
- Work closely with wider team(s) to share ideas and ensure consistency across all messaging – adhering to the brief and established brand values
- Manage tasks effectively and proactively
- Respond positively to client feedback, amending and improving where required
- Attend and contribute to team meetings and wider agency calls
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Excellent written English and grammar knowledge
- An ability to understand new ideas quickly and to convey those ideas to others
- Organised and able to multitask daily
- Motivated, with a willingness to learn
- Ability to work accurately to deadlines, with a keen eye for detail
- Capable of applying creative thinking to the writing process
- An interest in technology
- Experience of different copy formats, including writing for the web, video scripts, emails and more
- Strong research, proofreading and editing skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Keen to explore and utilise AI tools as part of project work, and be able to take Instructions on how AI tools will enhance task delivery
- Relevant bachelor’s degree, or equivalent industry experience
- Strong portfolio showcasing copy skills

- Versatile and confident copywriter, able to craft high-quality copy across a wide range of formats, channels, and client types
- Passionate advocate for copywriting, championing the value of strong language, ideas, and storytelling across the agency
- Strong understanding of the briefing process, with the ability to interpret briefs accurately and contribute to clearer, more effective briefing practices
- Highly attuned to tone of voice, with a clear grasp of how brand personality and audience influence copy across different contexts
- Detail-focused and supportive team player, willing to cross-check, proof, and elevate the quality of work beyond their own remit
- Proactive and collaborative, working closely with designers, strategists, client services, and other departments to deliver cohesive creative solutions

We aim to offer competitive and fair compensation based on experience, location, and market benchmarks. The salary range for this role is £30,000-£40,000.
