Hemming Group is a B2B media, publishing and events company supporting local government leadership with news, opinion and best practice to drive informed decision-making (hgluk.com).
We're looking for a B2B Marketing Manager with a strong background in subscriptions marketing and B2B events to join us on a 13-month maternity cover contract. This role sits across TheMJ, LocalGov and our Future Forums, and reports to the Senior Marketing Manager.
This role is subscriptions and events-led. You'll need hands-on experience running subscription acquisition, retention and win-back campaigns, ideally in a publishing or media environment, alongside experience marketing in-person B2B events.

What you'll be doing
Subscriptions (TheMJ)
- Running corporate subscription acquisition campaigns
- Managing lapsed subscriber win-back campaigns
- Running retention and engagement campaigns to reduce churn
- Reporting on subscription performance and campaign ROI
Events (Future Forums, 2x a year)
- Managing delegate acquisition campaigns end to end
- Handling delegate onboarding and communications
- Running event social media
- Producing event design assets and managing event websites
- Running post-event surveys and reporting
Publishing (LocalGov)
- Running newsletter acquisition campaigns
- Building and executing client lead generation campaigns (reports, webinars)
Essential experience
- Minimum 3 years in B2B marketing, with demonstrable subscriptions marketing experience (publishing, media or membership subscriptions)
- Proven track record running acquisition, retention and lapsed/win-back campaigns
- Experience marketing B2B in-person events, ideally delegate acquisition
- Hands-on HubSpot experience: email, forms, landing pages, workflows, segmentation, reporting
- Confident design skills in Canva for digital and print
