Job Description: Outpatient Physiotherapist
A successful candidate will work in an outpatient physiotherapy clinic assessing, diagnosing and treating a variety of musculoskeletal disorders from a range of sources including GP, orthopaedic and self-referrals.
Role Details
Given the development opportunities available; this post is suitable for newly qualified and existing Band 5 clinicians. Candidates will rotate between Bognor Regis War Memorial Hospital and our Clinic at Madgewick Lane, Chichester
Development Opportunities
- Monthly one-to-one supervision sessions to guide personal and professional development
- Monthly group supervision with other Band 5 staff in the team, facilitated by a Band 7/Band 8a
- Monthly departmental teaching sessions and journal clubs
- Capacity to participate in service-wide development projects
- Scope to frequently work alongside Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners from the neighbouring MSK service. This presents a rare opportunity for outpatient physiotherapists to directly access a wealth of knowledge and experience on a regular basis and provides a fantastic platform for clinical development.
- Collaboration with consultant-led Persistent Pain and Rheumatology services
Job Opportunities
Roles available across the whole of West Sussex, Brighton and Hove, which include full, part-time, fixed term and permanent opportunities.
We would also seek to support bank offers to support with waiting list initiatives.
Variety and Flexibility
- Opportunity to rotate between two large Physiotherapy departments
- Access to gym and hydrotherapy pool-based exercise rehabilitation facilities

Location
West Sussex is an area of natural beauty surrounded by the South Downs National Park and bordered by the beautiful south coastline, highlighted by the Witterings beach. This location is perfect for someone who enjoys the outdoors. It also has strong transport links to Brighton, London, Southampton and Portsmouth.
Who We Are Looking For
An individual who has the ambition to develop their clinical skills and who is capable of working within a close team to deliver compassionate care to a variety of patients. See attached person specification for further details.
Responsibilities
- To manage a caseload of patients with a variety of conditions.
- To formulate and deliver an individual treatment programme based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment and reasoning skills.
- To treat all patients with respect and courtesy, maintaining dignity and respecting individual needs and differences, both physical and cultural.
- To complete the SCFT Preceptorship programme through regular supervision and professional support (staff in their first year post-qualification)
- To be involved in the support of Band 2, 3 and 4 staff as well as student education.
