Role Description

This is a full-time (part time also considered), school-based role for a Speech & Language Therapist operating in Harlow / Epping. The Speech & Language Therapist will assess, diagnose, and manage speech, language, and communication needs for individuals across a range of ages and clinical presentations. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, developing and implementing evidence-based therapy plans, monitoring progress, and adjusting interventions as needed. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, families, carers, and community services to ensure coordinated and person-centered care. The therapist will also maintain accurate clinical documentation, contribute to service development, and participate in supervision and continuing professional development activities.

  • Strong skills and practical experience in Speech Therapy, including assessment and intervention across diverse client groups.
  • Knowledge and experience in managing Speech and Communication Disorders, with the ability to design individualized treatment plans.
  • Competence in working with Language Disorders, using evidence-based approaches to support functional communication.
  • Experience in assessing and managing Dysphagia, including safe swallowing strategies and multidisciplinary care coordination.
  • Relevant professional qualification in Speech & Language Therapy and current registration with an appropriate professional body (e.g., HCPC or equivalent).
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent record-keeping, time management, and organizational skills, with a commitment to clinical governance and best practice.
  • Experience in community or acute healthcare settings is beneficial, along with ongoing commitment to professional learning and development.
