Are you an ambitious and compassionate leader looking to drive high-quality care in addiction recovery?

AWP NHS Trust provides specialized, person-centred health and social care services to 1.6 million people across our region. We are looking for an exceptional Band 7 Team Manager to lead a clinical team within the integrated Reach Drug & Alcohol Services in Dorset (you will be based in Weymouth or Gillingham).

We welcome applications from two distinct professional backgrounds for this role:

  • Registered Clinicians (NMC/HCPC) looking to progress their management career.
  • Experienced Non-Registered Leaders with a proven track record of managing complex health, social care, or substance misuse services.

You will combine outstanding leadership with efficient operational management. You will oversee specialized substance misuse pathways, including complex community detoxification protocols, Opiate Substitution Treatment (OST), harm reduction initiatives, and shared care agreements with primary health sectors.

Main Duties & Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Leadership: Provide visible, compassionate leadership and expert consultation to nursing, medical, and multidisciplinary staff.
  • Clinical Governance & Safety: Ensure full compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, clinical safety audits, and strict safeguarding procedures.
  • Supervision & Development: Deliver robust individual and group clinical supervision, performance appraisals, and continuous professional development (CPD) pathways for Band 6/7 nurses and practitioners.
  • Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day service operations, safely manage team workloads, work closely with the wider Reach management team, review of clinical incidents, and hit target Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Multi-Agency Liaison: Maintain strong partnerships and smooth referral pathways with local GP practices, criminal justice stakeholders, and Dorset Council.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
