Backend Developer (Go / AWS) – Mid-Level | London
Overview
My client is going through an exciting stage of growth, investing heavily in modernising its platforms with scalable, cloud-native architecture. They're looking for a Backend Developer to take ownership of key backend systems, working primarily in Go and AWS, and to help mentor junior engineers as the team grows.
Location: London: 1–2 days/week on-site
Salary: £80,000 - £90,000
Employment type: Permanent position

- Design, develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Go
- Take ownership of key backend components, from design through to deployment
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into robust, scalable solutions
- Build and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, databases, and backend services
- Contribute to architectural decisions around performance, scalability and security
- Work with AWS cloud infrastructure to deploy and maintain services
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to raising engineering standards

Skills & Experience
- 4–6 years' professional software development experience
- Strong experience with Go
- Proven experience designing and building RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
- Solid experience with AWS
- Strong experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Strong engineering background delivering projects end-to-end
- Experience with microservices architecture
