Back End / Cloud Developer
£70,000 | Hybrid | London 1 day a week
We’re looking for an experienced Back End / Cloud Developer to join a growing technology team and play a key role in building scalable, secure and reliable cloud-based applications. You’ll focus on back-end development and cloud infrastructure, working closely with front-end developers and wider technology teams to design and deliver robust services and APIs.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Designing and developing scalable back-end services and APIs
- Building and maintaining REST APIs using Node.js and TypeScript
- Developing serverless applications using AWS
- Working with services including Lambda, API Gateway, S3 and DynamoDB
- Designing and implementing effective NoSQL data models
- Contributing to cloud architecture and technical design
- Developing secure, reliable and high-performing applications
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
- Monitoring, troubleshooting and improving production services
- Applying cloud security best practices throughout the development lifecycle
- Working closely with front-end developers to deliver integrated solutions
- Contributing to Agile development practices and technical decision-making

About You
You’ll ideally have strong commercial experience with:

- Node.js / TypeScript
- REST API development

- Serverless architecture
- NoSQL and data modelling
- CI/CD
- Automated testing
- Cloud security and OWASP principles
- Git
- Agile / Scrum
We’re looking for someone who understands how to build secure, scalable and maintainable cloud applications, rather than simply having experience with individual AWS services. You should be comfortable taking ownership of technical problems, working collaboratively with other developers and contributing to architectural decisions.
