Backend Developer

Insight Global are seeking a Backend Developer for a leading global investment banking and financial services client.

This position requires 5 days onsite in Birmingham, UK for a contract through end of year and is Inside IR35.

The successful candidate will join a Corporate Treasury Engineering team responsible for building and supporting platforms used for Liquidity Monitoring and Reporting. The team is currently undertaking a strategic cloud-native transformation, providing an opportunity to work on high-impact data and application platforms that support regulatory compliance and business-critical reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Java and/or Python.
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets in reporting, analytics, or financial systems environments.
  • Strong understanding of data processing, data transformation, and data integration concepts.
  • Experience writing and optimising SQL queries.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and data modelling principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
