The Role
Build and maintain back-end web application services that support the platform's products and operational workflows.
- Contribute to architecture decisions, identifying gaps and weighing delivery speed against reliability and long-term maintainability.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies where they address a product or engineering need.
- Support the existing codebase and work with colleagues to improve engineering practices.
- Use AI-assisted development tools and share practical approaches that help the team work effectively.

What We're Looking For
- At least five years of professional back-end engineering experience, with strong Node.js and TypeScript skills.
- A sound understanding of APIs, service design, application architecture and security.
- Experience with event-driven microservices and distributed messaging technologies such as SQS, RabbitMQ or Kafka.
- The ability to learn unfamiliar frameworks independently and discuss technical decisions clearly with colleagues.
- Comfort using AI tools in development, alongside good written and spoken English.

Useful Additional Experience
- AWS cloud-native development, infrastructure as code, coding agents and context engineering would be useful.
- Experience building FX, cash management or interest-rate systems is welcome, but is not essential.
This could suit an experienced Node.js engineer who enjoys both hands-on delivery and architectural discussion, whether your background is in financial software or another service-based product environment.
