We’re on the look for a passionate and hands-on Back of House Manager

(Full-Time) to help keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes at Kimpton Clocktower Hotel!

As our Back of House Manager, reporting into the Executive Chef, you’ll be at the centre of our kitchen operations - keeping standards high, supporting the team and making sure everything behind the scenes runs like clockwork. Your role will include the following responsibilities:

  • Oversees daily back of house operations including cleanliness, organisation, goods-in, equipment standards and safe working practices across kitchen support areas.
  • Supports the Executive Chef with operational and payroll standards keeping BOH areas service-ready, managing payroll and updating UKG for accurate payroll forecasting.
  • Leads, coaches and organises the back of house team creating a positive, well-structured environment, completing rotas and keeping everyone clear on standards.
  • Manages stock, deliveries and BOH systems including receiving deliveries on Procure Wizard, maintaining storage standards, reducing waste and supporting cost control.
  • Works closely with Kitchen, Food and Beverage, Events and wider hotel teams to support seamless service and a great guest experience.
  • Maintains compliance with food safety, hygiene, health and safety and internal policies across all back of house areas.

We want someone brilliantly organised, calm under pressure and proud of the standards they set - a hands-on leader who can keep the back of house operation moving and bring out the best in their team. Plus, we’re looking for someone who has…

  • Previous experience in a back of house, kitchen operations, stewarding or similar supervisory/management role within a busy hotel or hospitality environment.
  • A strong understanding of food hygiene, health and safety, COSHH and safe working practices.
  • The confidence to lead a team, set clear standards and support colleagues with coaching, training and day-to-day guidance.
  • Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to manage priorities, stock, deliveries and operational routines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a real eye for detail and pride in maintaining clean, safe and efficient back of house areas.
  • Food Safety certification and knowledge of HACCP would be desirable.
