About The Role
Waracle is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Developer to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a world-class digital consultancy, contributing to complex, business-critical IT transformation projects. As a Senior Developer, you will be pivotal in designing, developing, and delivering robust backend solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and secure. Operating in a hybrid environment, you will enjoy the flexibility of working remotely while also engaging with the team in our Glasgow or Dundee offices two days a week. Your expertise will influence architecture, uphold quality standards, and mentor junior colleagues, fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering culture. This position is ideal for a problem-solver who thrives on technical challenges and is passionate about sharing knowledge and best practices to support team growth and project success.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering complex digital products and possess deep expertise in .NET C#. Familiarity with modern cloud tools and patterns such as Azure, Durable Functions, Event sourcing, SQL, and Docker is essential. A strong understanding of SOLID principles, maintainability, and industry-standard security practices is required. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into accessible language for clients and stakeholders, are vital. Experience with front-end frameworks like React.js is a plus. We value passion, potential, and a growth mindset equally as much as formal credentials, encouraging applications from diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
Responsibilities
- Architectural Delivery: Collaborate with teams to design and implement end-to-end backend subsystems that are modular, scalable, and maintainable, ensuring high-quality code standards.
- Quality & Security: Lead efforts to uphold security best practices, conduct peer reviews, and establish testing strategies across unit and service levels to ensure robust, secure applications.
- Consulting & Communication: Effectively communicate complex technical decisions to clients and stakeholders, building trust and fostering collaborative relationships.
- Mentorship & Practice Growth: Support the development of junior team members through constructive feedback and knowledge sharing, while contributing innovative ideas to the company's collective expertise.
- Delivery Accountability: Balance speed and quality to ensure timely delivery of features that meet business needs without compromising standards.
