Overview

We’re searching for a talented, proactive Mid-Level Backend Engineer to join our rapidly growing engineering team. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will play a pivotal role in scaling and enhancing our innovative media platforms. You will work alongside senior developers and cross-functional teammates to deliver robust, high-performance features that drive our expansion.

About the Role

Medialake is experiencing rapid growth, and we are expanding our engineering team to increase platform scalability, reliability, and capability. As a Mid-Level Backend Engineer, you will own substantial portions of application logic, contributing directly to architecture discussions, code reviews, and API design.

While your core focus will be backend architecture in Laravel, you will collaborate closely with frontend engineers to ensure seamless API integrations and reliable platform performance. This role is ideal for a developer with solid commercial experience who is ready to take on greater autonomy, solve complex scaling problems, and push production-ready code in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
