About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Developer to join our dynamic team at Waracle. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of digital transformation initiatives, working within a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and professional growth. As a Senior Developer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and delivering end-to-end backend solutions that meet the complex needs of our clients. You will operate at a strategic level, influencing architectural decisions, ensuring high standards of quality and security, and mentoring junior team members. This hybrid role provides the flexibility of working remotely with the option to connect in person at our Glasgow or Dundee offices two days a week, fostering a balanced work-life environment. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of digital solutions, contributing to projects that impact various industries and enhance user experiences. Qualifications
- A proven track record of delivering complex digital products, demonstrating strong technical proficiency and problem-solving skills.
- Deep, practical experience with .NET C# development, including familiarity with modern cloud tools and patterns such as Azure, Durable Functions, Event sourcing, SQL, and Docker.
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles, particularly SOLID principles, maintainability, and industry-standard security practices.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, accessible language for clients and stakeholders.
- A supportive and encouraging communication style, with a passion for mentoring team members and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Experience with front-end frameworks and languages such as React.js is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Relevant educational background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Architect and deliver robust, scalable backend subsystems, ensuring modularity, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
- Champion high standards of code quality and security through peer reviews, defensive security measures, and comprehensive testing strategies at unit and service levels.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design technical solutions that meet client requirements and project timelines.
- Translate complex technical decisions into clear, understandable communication for clients and stakeholders, building trust and confidence.
- Mentor junior developers, providing constructive feedback and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Contribute innovative ideas and industry insights to enhance Waracle’s engineering practices and product offerings.
- Ensure timely delivery of features while balancing quality and technical debt considerations for sustainable development.
