About The Role

The position of SC Cleared Backend Developer is a critical role within a dynamic, secure environment. This contract-based opportunity is designed for experienced backend developers who possess active security clearance at the SC level or are eligible to obtain it. The role involves working remotely within the UK, contributing to the development and enhancement of agentic AI systems using frameworks such as Open AI, Anthropic, or Copilot. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, and reviewing backend components
  • Ensuring high-quality code delivery
  • Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams including database and front-end developers

This role requires a proactive individual capable of working independently, managing dependencies, and adhering to strict security protocols. The candidate will be involved in:

  • Documenting design intents
  • Conducting code reviews
  • Writing unit tests
  • Updating detailed Low-Level Designs (LLDs)

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in backend development with expertise in Java programming. They should have demonstrable experience working with agentic AI frameworks, particularly Open AI, Anthropic, or Copilot. Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain UK security clearance at the SC level, with preference given to those with existing clearance. A solid understanding of dependency management, design documentation, and code review processes is essential. Additionally, familiarity with unit testing frameworks and experience in managing complex dependencies across different development teams will be highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Independently develop and implement backend solutions using Java, adhering to project specifications and security requirements.
  • Design and document system architecture, ensuring clarity and quality in design documentation.
  • Manage dependencies and coordinate with database and front-end developers to ensure seamless integration of components.
  • Develop and execute unit tests to validate code functionality and maintain high standards of quality assurance.
  • Update Low-Level Designs (LLDs) to reflect system changes and enhancements accurately.
  • Conduct code reviews on backend tickets, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to coding standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient AI solutions.
  • Follow established delivery processes, working under the guidance of the client delivery manager.
  • Support the security clearance process and maintain compliance with all security protocols.
