Method Resourcing are proud to be partnered with a highly respected financial services organisation who are continuing to invest heavily in their Data & AI capabilities. This is an opportunity to join a growing Data Science function and play a pivotal role in how AI, analytics, and data products are delivered across the wider business.
The Role
The Data Science function has already built several applications, with more on the roadmap. They now need a dedicated engineering specialist to build the backend services, APIs, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) infrastructure that allows these applications and AI capabilities to scale across the organisation.
You'll join the Data Science team directly, working closely with Data Scientists, BI teams, and stakeholders across the business. The focus will be on designing production-grade services that expose data science outputs through robust, maintainable APIs and MCP servers, enabling other teams to build products and experiences on top of them.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
