Experience 5 to 7

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Owners to understand requirements and break them down into deliverable work items
  • Design and develop scalable, resilient, and observable microservices
  • Own the complete software delivery lifecycle from design through deployment
  • Deliver solutions within agreed timelines while maintaining engineering quality standards
  • Provide production support and resolve complex incidents
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues
  • Act as a technical consultant for platform users and application teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technology teams and stakeholders
  • Manage technical debt and drive platform modernization initiatives
  • Maintain strong security and vulnerability management practices
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices
  • Contribute to DevOps Platform Engineering and Site Reliability Engineering initiatives
  • Continuously improve platform reliability, performance, and supportability

To be successful in this role you should have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • 8 years of Software Engineering experience
  • At least 3 years in a Technical Lead DevOps Platform Engineering or SRE role
  • Strong understanding of Internet and Web technologies including HTTP, DNS, TLS, and Load Balancing
  • Strong knowledge of Reverse Proxies, Service Meshes, and API Gateways
  • Experience designing Microservices Architectures
  • Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, Python, or Clojure
  • Experience with Monitoring and Observability platforms such as Grafana and InfluxDB
  • Understanding of Time-Series Databases and Data Visualization concepts
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Experience managing and resolving critical production incidents
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in globally distributed teams
  • Strong learning mindset and ability to quickly adopt new technologies
  • Experience mentoring engineers and driving knowledge sharing
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration knowledge is desirable
  • Experience with KVM or VMware virtualization is beneficial
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms is advantageous
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is preferred
