About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer / Developer specialized in TypeScript to join our dynamic team in Cambridge or work remotely. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining backend services for our customer portal. Your work will directly contribute to the development of next-generation cybersecurity solutions aimed at combating sophisticated AI-driven cyber threats. This position offers an excellent opportunity for technical ownership, innovation, and continuous learning within a fast-paced research and development environment.
As part of our highly talented and diverse team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate ideas from rapid prototypes into robust, production-ready systems. You will be involved in shaping both the product and the underlying technology, ensuring the delivery of secure, efficient, and scalable backend services. The role provides flexibility with a hybrid work model, requiring attendance at the Cambridge office twice a week, fostering a vibrant team atmosphere with opportunities for problem-solving sessions and social engagement.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong experience in backend development using TypeScript, with a solid understanding of software engineering best practices.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes is essential, as is an appreciation for building secure applications.
- Advanced problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
- While not mandatory, experience with Python and/or Rust is considered advantageous, reflecting the company's commitment to diverse technological expertise.
- Excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services for the customer portal using TypeScript.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate prototypes into scalable, secure, and reliable systems.
- Implement containerization strategies using Kubernetes to ensure deployment efficiency and scalability.
- Ensure the security of applications through best practices and proactive security measures.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to uphold high-quality standards.
- Contribute to continuous integration and deployment pipelines to streamline development workflows.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to enhance product offerings.
- Take ownership of technical tasks and contribute to the innovation of cybersecurity solutions.
