About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Software Engineer / Developer with expertise in Python and Large Language Models (LLMs) to join our dynamic team remotely from the UK. In this senior, hands-on role, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining production-grade AI systems and the supporting infrastructure. Your work will directly influence the evolution of our conversational AI platform, enabling us to deliver innovative solutions to our clients. You will take ownership of key components, make independent technical decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize and scale our technology stack. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of AI technology, contributing to projects that have a real-world impact.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in backend Python software engineering, with a strong understanding of building scalable and reliable systems.
- Hands-on experience deploying Large Language Models (LLMs) into production environments.
- Familiarity with conversational AI workflows, including backend services and infrastructure required for operational AI solutions.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and tools to support scalable deployment and management.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, including services relevant to AI and backend infrastructure.
- Proficiency in other relevant technologies such as TypeScript, Node.js, and asynchronous Python programming.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and make informed technical decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to participate in technical discussions and collaborative development.
- Excellent communication skills and a pragmatic approach to software development.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems supporting conversational AI applications using Python and related technologies.
- Implement and optimize AI workflows, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, and secure for production environments.
- Assess existing platform architecture, identify areas for modernization, and contribute to the evolution of the technology stack.
- Integrate third-party AI services and APIs to enhance the platform’s capabilities.
- Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and frontend developers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to uphold high-quality standards.
- Contribute to the development of infrastructure as code, automating deployment and management processes.
- Take ownership of key projects, providing technical leadership and making strategic decisions to achieve project goals.
