Optime Group in partnership with a well-known Logistics Company located at Stansted Airport are looking to add to its growing team of Baggage Operatives serving one of the UK's fastest growing airports.
Roles Starting in September
What's on offer
- Location: Stansted Airport
- Rate of pay: £13.81 per hour
- Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (You must be flexible to work both shift patterns)
- Shift timings: 02:30am to 12:30pm
- Weekly Pay
- Temp to Perm (performance based)
Responsibilities
This project involves manually moving bags due to ongoing terminal renovations. Workers will be required to move bags a short distance using a trolley from one baggage belt to another. Workers will also be working behind the check-in desks ensuring that bags are properly spaced on the belts while work on the baggage system takes place. This process will be repeated as needed.
- This is a manual role; candidates will need to be physically fit and able to repetitively lift and move luggage up to 30KG in weight.
- To ensure that all tasks are carried out accurately and in line with current procedures.
- Achievement & Measure of contract specific KPI's.
- To ensure that any task carried out is completed within the boundaries of the current procedures and processes.
- To work within the established standards of accuracy.
- To ensure company Health & Safety policies are adhered to.
- To work within the operating areas as determined by the management and needs of the business.
- To ensure accurate and prompt information is passed to the Team Leader or Supervisor when requested.
- Adhere to company and site policies, culture and values.
- To undertake and implement any training provided by the company in relation to the development of the role, individual or operation.
- Any other reasonable duties and tasks as required.

Shifts
The Airport is operational 7 days per week and candidates will be working on either of the below rolling rota and you will need to be fully flexible with the days and hours you can work. Please note, your shifts can start as early as 02:30am. This could be subject to change!

Requirements
In addition to the above we would prefer the applicant to possess some or nearly all of the below attributes:
- Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules.
- Ability to read, understand and follow directions/instructions.
- Ability to count accurately and to perform simple math calculations.
- Have appropriate hand, eye and foot coordination to effectively use mechanical handling equipment.
- Ability to move product which may require bending, stretching, stooping, stepping, reaching and/or lifting, in line with Health & Safety regulations.
PLEASE NOTE: As this position is in the aviation industry, successful applicants must be able to provide 5-year checkable history.
