We need a Bakery Team Leader
We need a Bakery Team Leader who'll supervise our production and bakery teams day to day, keeping operations safe, efficient and high-quality — while coaching operatives into stronger performers.
THE OPPORTUNITY
- £15.35 per hour
- 5 days out of 7, including 1 weekend day
- 45 hours per week
- Reporting to the Production Manager/Head Baker
- Operatives and Multiskilled Operatives reporting to you
- Cover for the Production Shift Manager role when required

What We're Looking For

- Minimum 5 years' experience in a small-to-medium production operation
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing Team Leader role, ideally food production
- Experience working in a BRCGS or SALSA accredited environment
- An understanding of Continuous Improvement techniques — 5S, VSM, visual tools
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and manage people effectively
- Strong communication skills, with clear instruction and feedback
- Good emotional intelligence and ability to stay calm under pressure
- Food safety or health & safety qualifications desirable
A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Supervising, supporting and motivating operatives to hit daily targets
- Coaching, mentoring and giving on-the-job guidance to build team capability
- Monitoring attendance, timekeeping and conduct, addressing issues per company procedure
- Ensuring all activity is carried out safely, especially around machinery and cold storage
- Carrying out routine quality checks and supporting audits and inspections
- Monitoring waste levels and contributing to efficiency initiatives
- Communicating daily priorities and performance updates to the team, and escalating issues appropriately
- Working cross-functionally with Technical, Engineering and Logistics to support business outcomes
