Company Description
Leeds University Union Ballet Society is a long-established and active community with over 200 members who participate to stay fit, refine their technique, perform, and build connections. The society welcomes anyone interested in ballet, regardless of prior experience, creating an inclusive environment for beginners through advanced dancers. Members can choose from 19 weekly classes covering technique, show, competition, and pointe work. The society offers structured opportunities for progression, performance, and skill development in a supportive setting.

The Ballet Teacher will deliver high-quality ballet lessons across a range of levels, from Lower Intermediate to Advanced, ensuring classes are safe, inclusive, and fun whilst building technique and musicality. Responsibilities include planning, choreographing, and teaching classes in technique, show, and pointe, demonstrating exercises, correcting alignment, and providing clear feedback to support each dancer’s development.
Teaching Times
- Fridays: 17:30–21:15
- 17:30–18:45 Lower Intermediate Technique
- 18:45–20:00 Higher Intermediate Technique
- 20:00–21:15 Advanced Technique
- Sundays: 10:00–16:30
- 10:00–11:15 Lower Intermediate Technique
- 11:15–12:00 Improvers Pointe
- 12:00–13:00 Intermediate Show
- 13:00–13:30 Paid break
- 13:30–14:30 Higher Show
- 14:30–15:45 Higher Intermediate Technique
- 15:45–16:30 Intermediate Pointe

Qualifications
- Strong foundation in ballet and dance.
- Experience in choreography.
- Clear, encouraging communication style and the ability to give constructive feedback in a supportive manner.
- Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and non-discriminatory learning environment for all members.
