The Lewis Foundation of Classical Ballet
The Lewis Foundation of Classical Ballet is India’s leading ballet school, based in Bangalore, a cosmopolitan hub in the south of India. Affiliated with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), London, the school has been teaching the Imperial style of ballet for over two decades. Its teaching team brings more than 60 years of combined experience in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and allied dance forms, supporting over 1,000 regular students across the city.
The headquarters features state-of-the-art facilities, including a full sprung dance studio, creating an excellent environment for serious dance training. The Foundation is in a growth phase and is welcoming passionate ballet teachers from around the world who want to shape the future of ballet in India.

Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Ballet Teacher role located in Bangalore, India. The Ballet Teacher will deliver high-quality ballet classes to children, youth, and aspiring professional dancers, following structured syllabi and progressive training methods. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Planning lessons
- Demonstrating technique
- Correcting alignment
- Coaching students for exams and performances
- Maintaining a safe, inclusive studio environment

The teacher will collaborate with the wider faculty on curriculum development, rehearsals, events, and performance preparation, and may support outreach, parent communication, and administrative tasks related to class scheduling and student progress. The role is ideal for someone committed to long-term dance education and to nurturing disciplined, confident dancers.
