Job Summary
The post holder will be responsible for the receipt, storage, and distribution of clinical and non-clinical products and to ensure accurate, timely picking and packing of orders. To operate as per trust policies and SOP's in order to provide an efficient and effective Logistics service to the end user.
37.5 hours per week between 06:00-20:00
Whilst the position advertised is based at Kings Norton Warehouse initially, post holders will be required to operate at multi sites across the Trust's campus.
Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required
- To undertake all operational warehouse and driving duties in accordance with agreed operating procedures (SOP's) at any distribution point serviced by the Trust for which appropriate training will be provided if necessary.
- To inspect, check, and report any defect or damaged goods/ supplies received to the Logistics Management in a timely manner.
- To monitor and assist in unloading and loading of vehicles in a safe manner, ensuring adequate security of goods is maintained at all times according to legal requirements.
- To ensure Health and Safety, COSHH, Medicines Act, Misuse of Drugs Act and Regulations, Weight Restrictions, and local operating procedures are followed at all times ensuring that adequate security of goods is maintained at all times.
- To ensure daily delivery schedules/delivery point times are always met.
- To check and put away receipted goods in the correct stock locations ensuring stock rotation principles are followed as per SOP undertaking stock replenishment duties.
- To accurately pick goods and suitably pack for issue to the customer as per SOP.
- To carry out stock taking duties as required on supplied goods or containers and assist in the investigations of shortages/discrepancies.

- To operate mechanical aids in a responsible manner, carry out safety checks, and ensuring that both equipment and working areas are safe, clean, and tidy, and reporting any deficiencies to the Logistics Management team.
- To marshal roll cages and tote boxes and/or other material storage/handling equipment.
- To carry and use authorized communication devices, ensuring their correct use at all times.
- To be responsible for the security of the warehouse/RDP, with a possible requirement to be a key holder, activating/deactivating alarm systems, and being responsible in maintaining the security of the warehouse/RDP.
- To perform general housekeeping duties within the working environment, ensuring benches/shelving/desks/bins/floors etc. are kept clean at all times.
- To dispose of waste products according to the Trust's Waste Management Policy, transfer waste to the appropriate collection points according to procedures, including appropriate handling of corrosive materials, cytotoxic, flammable substances, and dealing with any spillages.
- To take on an active role during emergencies, including fire and all major emergencies, and accompany emergency services to the problem area and assist as requested.
- To wear uniform and ID badge with Trust policy and procedure and comply with Infection Control Policy.
- To observe a clean, neat, and tidy appearance at all times adhering to the Trust's and Departmental Uniform policies.
- To report any accident or incident in compliance with the Trust policy and procedures.
- To ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- To undertake full training necessary for the job or personal development in accordance with the Trust's Personal Development Review System (PDRS).
- To demonstrate an ongoing commitment to Continuing Personal Development (CPD).
- Undertake any other duties, commensurate with the grade, as requested by Supervisors/Managers.

Qualifications
Essential
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Driving License held for at least 2 years with no more than 6 penalty points.
Desirable
- Experience using WHM software including Sage / CMM / SAP
Experience
Essential
- Working within a warehouse environment
- Understanding of stock rotation and location items
- Understanding of barcode systems
- Able to prioritize tickets and requisitions to meet input and delivery schedules
- Knowledge of item functionality
Desirable
- Inventory Control
- Pharmacy processes
- Driving up to 3.5t vehicles in a professional capacity
