Job Summary
We are seeking motivated individuals to join the Radiology Department at University Hospital Birmingham, for the following. Successful candidate must be able to work the following shift patterns depending on the post.
Shift Pattern And Posts
- 1 x permanent full time post 37.5 hours working 8-4 -- 12-8.
- 1 x 12 month fixed term/secondment post 37.5 hours working 8-4 -- 12-8.
- 2 x permanent 30 hour posts working 8-2 - 2-8.
The above posts will be working 5 days across a 7-day service to include weekends and Bank Holidays.

Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required
We are looking for individuals with experience in customer care, reception duties and excellent communication skills and must be able to work within the above shift patterns.
- Work within deadlines and use your own initiative.
- Accuracy and attention to details are paramount.
- Candidates should be confident in prioritising their workload.
- Experience in NHS clinical systems such as CRIS and Oceano.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Experience of working within a team.
You will be liaising with staff, patients and external agencies, such as GP's, Dentists etc. Provide patients with support, non-clinical advice and information on a range of issues including appointment queries.
- Notify patients of new or changes to appointments.
- Be sympathetic and sensitive to the requirements of staff, patients and other service users when communicating by telephone or face to face, including dealing with a difficult situation, e.g. aggressive or demanding behaviour, escalating conflict situations where necessary.

Qualifications
Essential
- Good General Education (e.g. GCSE English and Maths A-C) GCSE Level 9-4
Experience
Essential
- Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service experience
- Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (e.g. Word,Excel, Teams and Outlook)
- Experience of using IT Systems
- Experience of working in a busy office /customer care environment
- Knowledge Of administrative systems/office procedures acquired through on the job training.
Desirable
- Experience of working in Healthcare
