Job Opportunity: Community Recovery Worker

A rare and exciting opportunity is now available for you to join our Deaf Community Recovery Team on a 6-month fixed-term basis. As a Community Recovery Worker, you will support our patients' holistic needs within a community catchment area covering a third of England. We are a National Deaf tertiary Service blended with a 12-bed mixed inpatient ward based at The Barberry.

Role Purpose

• Provide individual support to the Deaf Service users within both inpatient and community settings, in their own homes to promote their Mental Health recovery and independence.
• Support transition to discharge from the inpatient ward and facilitate joint working.
• Positively promote the independent living of service users within the community, facilitate social and leisure activities for service users, and focus on their direct needs.
• Work across boundaries of care to promote social inclusion and independence and maximize the effectiveness of services within available resources.
• Assist in the provision of quality evidence-based practice, providing advice and support and care for service users with health and social care needs, and their carers within a multidisciplinary setting within a wide-defined catchment area/locality.
• Be responsible for scheduling and facilitation of therapeutic recovery-focused interventions for Deaf BSL users in groups and individually under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Specialist and Team Manager.
• Assist in the development and provision of the Deaf Service and work with various organizations to promote the service users' recovery.
• Responsible for organizing traveling across an extensive catchment area to meet service users within their own communities.
