Job Summary
The Neurology and Stroke Department at Leeds Teaching Hospitals are looking for a band 3 Medical Secretary to become an important part of a busy, supportive team delivering high-quality care to our patients. Based within the Trust, you will provide essential administrative and secretarial support to the department, helping to ensure that clinical services run smoothly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and motivated individual with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. You will need to work confidently under pressure, keep up with a busy workload and consistently achieve targets while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and professionalism. What You Will Bring To The Role
You will provide a comprehensive and high-quality medical secretarial service to support our clinical teams, including Consultants, junior medical staff and specialist nursing teams, in delivering excellent care to patients across Leeds and beyond. You will manage your workload in line with departmental priorities and requirements, working closely with the Senior Medical Secretary to ensure an efficient and responsive service.
The role requires excellent organisational skills, strong time management and the ability to work accurately in a busy, fast-paced environment. A good understanding of relevant Trust standards and National Waiting Time Standards, including the 5-day turnaround for clinical correspondence and the 18-week patient pathway, is desirable. Full training and support will be provided to ensure you develop the knowledge and skills required to succeed in the role.
