About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join the Autism Intensive Service (AIS). We are a values based, friendly and innovative intervention and support service looking to welcome a new Assistant Psychologist with experience of working with children and young people with complex needs.
Right to Work in the UK
This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must already hold the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application, as the organisation is unable to support sponsorship for this post.
Responsibilities
The post holder will support the delivery of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and psychologically informed interventions for children and young people with autistic spectrum profiles who present with complex behaviours of distress.
Working under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist, PBS Practitioner or other qualified clinician within the Autism Intensive Service (AIS), the post holder will assist in gathering information to inform assessments, implement intervention plans developed by qualified clinicians, collect and record behavioural data, and support service users and families in a range of settings including home, school and community environments.

The post holder will contribute to the delivery of safe, effective and evidence-informed care and will work collaboratively with other professionals, families and carers. The role does not involve independent clinical assessment, formulation, care planning or clinical decision making.
The post holder will deliver intervention programmes to children and young people in their specialist educational settings, short break provision and their home setting. The post holder will be willing and able to work between 7am and 7pm as needed.
