Job Opportunity: Part-Time Medical Secretary

The Forensic Intensive Recovery Support Team (FIRST) has a vacancy for a part-time medical secretary to provide comprehensive, reliable, confidential secretarial support to Consultant Psychiatrists and Clinical Team.

Requirements

The successful applicant will need to possess:

  • A good general level of education
  • Formal secretarial qualifications
  • Experience of working in healthcare is essential

The successful applicant must possess the essential qualifications outlined in the attached personal specification.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Work within a busy team providing a comprehensive secretarial service to Consultant Psychiatrists and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Prepare and take minutes of clinical team meetings and referral meetings.
  • Maintain a rolling programme of CPA Case Conferences and medical reviews.
  • Support the Clinical Team in ensuring KPIs are up to date.
  • Manage written documentation such as reports and letters.
  • Ensure that any correspondence from the Ministry of Justice and Mental Health Act Office are dealt with according to working practice as and when required.
  • Maintain diary management for the Consultant Psychiatrists.
  • Update patient and caseload records.
