Job Overview
Are you keen to contribute to the provision of high-quality health care for individuals in an inpatient mental health setting? Do you have NHS experience in a caring role, equipping you to work effectively to support and monitor people who need nutritional input in an inpatient setting? We are looking for a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner to assist our friendly team in providing services to this group of patients throughout Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.
Job Description Summary
This role is part of the Mental Health Dietetic Team, supporting inpatient mental health services across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland, including acute, older adult and rehabilitation wards. The post combines ward-based and office-based work, with a focus on patient contact, monitoring, training and education for individuals and groups, alongside record keeping and data entry.
You will collaborate closely with Dietitians, Dietetic Assistant Practitioners, and administrative colleagues, requiring strong communication, organisational, teamwork and IT skills. A commitment to delivering high-quality care and collaborating effectively with patients, carers, relatives, and healthcare professionals is essential. Previous experience in a caring or healthcare environment is required.

The Leicester Nutrition and Dietetic Service employs around one hundred staff and provides services across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. The team is committed to professional development and offers clinical supervision, training opportunities and support for student placements.
Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes. Please note that applicants with HCPC registration are not eligible for this role.
