Job Description: Band 5 Pharmacist

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Band 5 Pharmacist to join our dynamic team in London. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines within our NHS Trust. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their clinical skills and contribute to patient care in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense medications accurately and efficiently in accordance with legal and professional standards.
  • Provide clinical advice and support to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings to optimise patient care.
  • Monitor and review patient medication regimens, making necessary adjustments in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, guidelines, and Trust policies.
  • Contribute to the training and development of pharmacy support staff and students.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance clinical knowledge and skills.

Required Qualifications And Experience

  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Completion of a recognised pharmacy degree (MPharm or equivalent).
  • Successful completion of the Pre-Registration Pharmacy Year or equivalent experience.
  • NHS mandatory training completion.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
