Band 5 Registered Nurse Post
This is a Band 5 registered nurse post that offers the opportunity for the successful candidate to undertake the relevant training to complete the UKONS SACT passport. This is carried out over a period of 3 months with the end goal of being trained to administer a range of systemic anti-cancer treatment on our specialist day unit.
Responsibilities

Training and Experience:
- Demonstrate experience in Oncology and bring their knowledge and expertise to embark on the relevant clinical training to gain the SACT administration skill.
- Have previous IV administration skills and experience in administering IV medication in previous settings.
- Opportunity to complete the Trust IV passport which will prepare the post holder for further training in SACT administration.

Nursing Procedures:
- Undertake all nursing procedures in accordance with Trust policies.
- Contribute to the development of evidence-based guidelines/policies relating to the specialty.
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive nursing records are maintained using appropriate written and electronic documentation.
- Collect data and provide essential information in a timely and accurate manner when requested.

Care Standards:
- Ensure high standards of care are given to all patients, monitoring this through spot checks and clinical quality indicators outcome measures.
- Contribute to patient and relative feedback by undertaking daily clinical rounds with the aim of providing excellent standards of care.

Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate in the assessment of patient care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of plans of care, ensuring high standards of evidence-based care.
- Ensure communication with patients and significant others is established, ensuring empathy and reassurance regarding assessment, care, and treatment.

Compliance and Accountability:
- Be accountable at all times for ensuring that safeguards are in place for patients, in particular those adults or children at risk.
- Ensure that all staff act in accordance with Trust policies such as Infection Prevention and Control, Confidentiality, Health & Safety, and Equal Opportunities.
