A little about the role
Our specialist 18 bed Orthopaedic & Spinal Ward cares for patients undergoing a wide range of planned and complex surgery. From admission and preparation for surgery through to recovery, rehabilitation and discharge, our nurses play a key role in helping patients regain their mobility, confidence and independence.
You will work closely with experienced consultant surgeons, physiotherapists, pain specialists and the wider clinical team. Together, you will support patients with pain management, monitor their recovery and help them get moving safely after surgery, tailoring care to their individual needs.
We are looking for an experienced Orthopaedic or Spinal Nurse who enjoys hands on surgical nursing and wants to build on their specialist skills. You will join a supportive team where colleagues share their knowledge, work through challenges together and take pride in the care they provide.
Whether you want to deepen your experience of complex surgical care or develop your confidence in mentoring and ward leadership, this role offers opportunities to grow with support from our senior nurses.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
