Join Our Team as a B6 Trainee Sonographer

Our comprehensive training pathway combines academic study with hands-on clinical experience, enabling you to gain the skills and qualifications needed to become a highly competent, independent practitioner in ultrasound imaging. You will work alongside experienced sonographers across a range of ultrasound specialties depending on site base. With access to state-of-the-art equipment, you'll be supported by a friendly, knowledgeable team dedicated to mentoring and helping you succeed.

We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a relevant healthcare background and professional registration such as HCPC, NMC etc, who demonstrate a strong interest in ultrasound and a commitment to delivering excellent patient care. Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required

Main duties of the job

Your daily duties will include observing, assisting, and eventually performing a range of ultrasound examinations. You will learn to produce high-quality images, make accurate observations, and communicate findings effectively to clinical colleagues.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, have a post graduate accredited qualification in medical ultrasound
  • Must be state registered (HCPC or NMC) when eligible or Register of Clinical Technologists (RCT)

Experience

Essential

  • Must have relevant skills/knowledge/experience in the range of ultrasound techniques which are required
  • To possess a full understanding of ethical and moral issues to enable delivery of bad news to patients in an appropriate/empathetic manner
  • An understanding of the principles of the development and modernisation of the NHS, particularly in relation to imaging and the education of the healthcare workforce.

Desirable

  • IT experience to use the necessary computerized reporting system and image recording system
  • Must be prepared to assist with the development of the service and protocols
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of the audit process

Additional Criteria

Essential

  • Demonstration of innovation in the healthcare profession.
  • Courteous conduct in difficult/contentious situations.
  • Positive application of professional code of conduct
