Are you a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) ready for a new challenge as a Band 6 Clinical Team Leader within a specialist older adult inpatient service?

We are seeking a Registered Mental Health Nurse who is passionate about caring for older people and committed to delivering the highest standards of mental and physical healthcare. You will bring commitment, innovation and a positive attitude, with the ability to engage service users and carers in all aspects of their care.
To thrive in this role, you will need to be resilient, motivated and adaptable, with the confidence to work effectively in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate how they plan to carry out the responsibilities of the role, as well as their commitment to collaborative team working.
Responsibilities
- Play a key role in leading others in the development of knowledge, ideas and clinical practice particularly in the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of care plans for older adults with both functional and organic mental illness.
- Support, guide and monitor the performance of nursing staff, including supervising the work of Staff Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and student nurses.
- Establish and maintain communication with individuals or groups of patients, carers and staff, about difficult or complex matters, overcoming any problems in communication.
- Develop own knowledge and skills and contribute to the development of others.
- Monitor and maintain health, safety and security of self and others in own work area.
- Contribute to the implementation of services.
- Contribute to quality improvement.
- Promote people’s equality, diversity and rights.
- Assess the care needs of people whose needs are relatively stable and consistent with others in the ward.
- Plan, deliver and evaluate programmes of care to address people’s needs, which are relatively stable and consistent with others in the ward.
- Participate in partnership working with individuals, groups, communities and agencies.
- Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice.
- Plan, allocate, assess and provide feedback to team members.
- Maintain and support the efficient use of physical and/or financial resources.
