Band 6 District Nursing Sister
As a Band 6 District Nursing Sister with the CSP qualification within the Evening and Overnight District Nursing Service for Central Manchester you will provide high quality, autonomous nursing care to patients in their own homes. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care, ensuring patients receive safe, effective and compassionate treatment while promoting independence and preventing unnecessary hospital admissions.
As a senior member of the team, you will provide clinical leadership, supervision and mentorship to junior staff and students. You will work with GPs, OOH GPs, ambulance service, hospices, other community teams as well as patients family and carers.
The post requires excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills, together with the ability to work independently and able to prioritise the workload.

Hours:
- 17:30 - 23:30
- 18:00 - 00:00
- Night shift (22:30 - 08:00 with notice)
Role:
- Leading the evening & OOHs district nursing team
- Responding to urgent referrals
- Making informed clinical decisions in a variety of community settings
- Undertaking palliative and end of life care
- Catheter and medication management
- Supporting patients with long term conditions
- Coordinating and prioritising the evening caseload to ensure timely and safe delivery of care
Requirements:
- Ability to drive and have use of a car due to the large geographical area covered
