An Exciting Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the appointment of Deputy Ward Manager across acute and rehab wards at Reaside Clinic.

We are looking to recruit highly motivated individuals, who are passionate about providing high quality and compassionate care in the secure environment, to men who are experiencing complex mental ill health and personality disorders and who demonstrate challenging behaviour.

About the Role

Post holders will assist the Ward Manager in the provision of clinical leadership, driving up and maintaining quality care, and being a positive clinical role model. This will provide an ideal opportunity to extend your skill base in clinical leadership and ward/site management, with opportunities to become involved in a variety of work streams including recruitment, service and staff development and audit.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the evidence-based care required, including health promotion for a named service user/group.
  • Responsible for participating in the setting of quality standards, including the monitoring and reviewing in line with current clinical guidance, practice, and policy.
  • Responsible for ensuring the post holder understands and meets their professional role and responsibilities under the Care Programme Approach and current adult and child safeguarding legislation.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983 and Code of Practice are observed, adhered to, and implemented.
  • Responsible for establishing therapeutic relationships with service users, and the implementation of evidence-based therapeutic interventions with appropriate boundaries in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Council's professional code of conduct.
