Exciting Opportunity to Train as a High Intensity CBT Therapist
We are pleased to announce that an exciting Opportunity has arisen to train as a High Intensity CBT Therapist working and studying collaboratively with Birmingham Healthy Minds (BHM) NHS Talking Therapies and Coventry University.
Coventry University will be the academic place of study for this Post Graduate Diploma in CBT and the expected mode of delivery will be face to face learning. The trainee's clinical placement will be within one of Birmingham Healthy Minds NHS Talking Therapies' 4 bases located in the North, South, East and West of Birmingham. Where the candidates will develop the required clinical skills with the support of their identified supervisor.
Application Timeline:
- Closing date for applications: 26 July 2026
- Informal interviews with Birmingham Healthy Minds: 10 August 2026
- Academic screening via MS Teams: 23 September 2026
- Joint formal interview with Coventry University and BHM NHS Talking Therapies via MS Teams: 16 October 2026
- Course commencement: January 2027
Eligibility:
- Motivated and committed applicants who have an existing core profession or applying via completion of knowledge, skills attitude portfolio and wish to pursue a career as a High Intensity CBT Therapist with Birmingham Healthy Minds NHS Talking Therapies service upon completion of their training.
- The duration of the course is 12 months. The number of days required to meet the educational objectives and skills-based competences covered during the respective course will be confirmed at a later date to the applicants. The trainee will carry a small caseload as part of their clinical practice and due to the intensity of the course should not be undertaking any other role or training whilst undertaking this post graduate diploma.
