About the Role
We are looking for someone to join our busy and highly skilled team to provide a holistic approach to orthopaedic care. The successful applicant will be a dynamic and motivated individual capable of managing their own workload. The post holder will have appropriate experience or potential to develop. You will possess effective communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
The post holder will work closely with the Ward leader, nurses, consultants, and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining excellent standards of nursing care and staff development as part of the team.
They will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure standards of care are consistently maintained.

As a Band 6 Charge Nurse, you will play a key role in the clinical and operational management of the unit. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive safe, effective, and compassionate care throughout their inpatient journey.
Responsibilities
- Providing visible clinical leadership and role modelling professional nursing practice.
- Supporting the day-to-day management and smooth running of the Unit.
- Coordinating patient flow and ensuring effective utilisation of resources.
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
- Supervising, supporting, and developing junior nursing staff and healthcare support workers.
- Promoting evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement.
- Maintaining high standards of patient safety, experience, and clinical governance.
