Midwife - Band 6 Antenatal Clinic
We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and experienced Midwife to join our Antenatal Clinic team as a Band 6 Antenatal Clinic Midwife. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality, evidence-based care to women and birthing people throughout their pregnancy journey within a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Role Overview
As a Band 6 Midwife, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive antenatal care, supporting informed decision-making, promoting maternal wellbeing, and contributing to positive pregnancy outcomes. You will work collaboratively with obstetricians, specialist midwives, sonographers, healthcare support workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, personalised care for women throughout pregnancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide holistic antenatal assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Monitor maternal and fetal wellbeing, recognising and responding appropriately to risk factors and complications.
- Develop and maintain individualised care plans in partnership with women and their families.
- Provide health education and promotion on topics including nutrition, smoking cessation, infant feeding, birth preparation, and postnatal care.
- Facilitate referral pathways to specialist services where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous electronic patient records.
- Support women to make informed choices regarding their care and birth preferences.
- Contribute to safeguarding responsibilities and escalation of concerns.
- Participate in audit, quality improvement initiatives, and service development.
- Act as a mentor, preceptor, or practice supervisor for students and newly qualified staff.

Visa Sponsorship
This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route. Sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds, and any role-specific criteria. For example, applicants for the Senior HCA role must be able to evidence a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the same role to qualify for sponsorship.
