About the Role

The Wiltshire area of Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) is seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to work within a mental health inpatient ward setting, predominantly on the rehab ward with opportunities to support acute and community services.

To follow the OT process of assessment, intervention, and evaluation to effectively identify and address occupational performance needs experienced by our client group.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize your skills as a holistic, autonomous practitioner while also having the support from the multi-professional team and wider Occupational Therapy team.
  • Work with other qualified Occupational Therapists.
  • Provide individual specialist assessments and group work.
  • Manage a complex caseload and prioritize effectively to meet the demands of the service.
  • Provide regular supervision and training to rotational Band 5 OTs and support staff.
  • Provide Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions alongside the wider MDT to provide patient-centered care.
  • Adapt to the needs of service users.
