An Exciting Opportunity for a Critical Care Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Critical Care Nurse to join the Intensive Care Unit at King George Hospital, Ilford, as a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse.

About the Role

You will be part of a highly motivated team caring for critically unwell patients requiring Level 2 and Level 3 care. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Critical Care Nurse with a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and the ability to lead and support others in achieving these standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership, education, and support to the nursing team including new staff and colleagues requiring additional development.
• Act as a role model, regularly coordinate the unit and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, individualised, and evidence-based care.
• Contribute to the continued development of Critical Care nursing practice, supporting improvements in quality and patient experience in line with local and national standards.

Key Duties

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised, evidence-based care for critically ill patients in accordance with Trust policies, procedures, and professional standards.
• Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical documentation in accordance with NMC and Trust requirements.
• Demonstrate advanced critical care knowledge and skills in the assessment and management of acutely and critically unwell adults, including recognition and escalation of clinical deterioration.
• Develop and implement appropriate interventions and action plans to optimise patient outcomes.
• Act as the patient’s advocate and practise at all times in accordance with the NMC Code.
