Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and motivated Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Acute Stroke Unit team. The successful candidate will provide visible clinical leadership and operational management, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality patient-centred care for patients recovering from stroke. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will coordinate the day-to-day running of the ward, oversee patient flow, and support the delivery of evidence-based stroke care in line with national standards and Trust objectives.

As a key member of the ward leadership team, you will lead, support, and develop nursing and support staff, promoting excellence in clinical practice, patient safety, and patient experience. You will work in partnership with the Senior Sisters to monitor and improve quality and safety indicators, including falls prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, healthcare-associated infections, nutrition, hydration, and documentation standards. The post holder will actively contribute to clinical governance, audit, quality improvement, and service development initiatives, representing the ward at governance and quality meetings in the absence of the Senior Sister. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic nurse leader to influence practice, drive improvements in care, and support the delivery of outstanding outcomes for stroke patients and their families.

Our Stroke Unit provides specialist Hyperacute and Acute Stroke care within a supportive, forward-thinking, and patient-focused environment. As a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse, you will be part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team committed to delivering outstanding care, improving patient outcomes, and driving excellence across the stroke pathway.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
