The Infusion Service
The Infusion Service is a Nurse-led unit which facilitates the administration of biologic therapies and other medications which require IV access, to prevent hospital admissions.
We are a dynamic team that currently provides a service over 6 days between the hours of 8am -6pm at Eastbourne DGH. The main patient cohorts are Gastroenterology, Rheumatology and Neurology; however, the service is developing and other specialities are beginning to utilize the service effectively.
Role Requirements
You will need to provide strong leadership, possess excellent communication skills and be able to develop and support staff with clinical and professional expertise. You will also be expected to function effectively under pressure without compromising standards of care and professionalism. Knowledge of Infusion Treatment pathways for Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, Respiratory, Dermatology and Neurology patients with experience in administering IV medication including Biologics and Intravenous Immunoglobulins would be an advantage.
