The South West Gambling Service Recruitment
The South West Gambling Service would like to recruit Clinical Psychologists or Cognitive Behaviour Therapists. We provide treatment to people experiencing gambling harms as well as their families and significant others, working in a trauma-informed manner. These exciting new roles can be based in any location across the South West of England as we are a remote working team.
The roles involve assessment, formulation, and treatment, providing Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Family Interventions, both individually and in groups. The role involves working as part of the MDT, participating in relevant meetings and processes, and supporting our wider network of partner organisations.
As Gambling services are new to the NHS we will provide support and training to help you in your role. The team have regular in-person meetings and there is a strong focus on staff wellbeing. The role will involve working at least one evening per week according to service needs and there will be opportunities to get involved in research and service development.

Job Summary (to be read alongside the key local information):
- Assess and treat people experiencing gambling harms and co-occurring needs, and maintain associated records on the electronic patient record system.
- Provide high-intensity, evidence-based psychological interventions; these will include at least Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Motivational Interviewing for people with a broad range of needs.
- Provide consultation, liaison, and, where appropriate, clinical supervision to other professionals, including less experienced therapists, Assistant Psychologists, and Trainee Clinical Psychologists.
- Undertake clinical audit and service evaluation activities to support the development of services relevant to client needs.
- Develop best-practice knowledge in working with people who gamble and promote expertise in this area, including supporting research projects where appropriate, with the guidance of the Clinical Lead.
