Band 7 Therapist (0.4818 WTE)

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Therapist (0.4818 WTE) to join the team at the Perry Tree Centre Intermediate Care Unit within our North Locality P2 Bed service.

This post will work alongside the existing Band 7 therapist in a job-share arrangement. Ideally, the successful candidate will work on the days when the current Band 7 is not on site, ensuring consistent leadership and support across the service.

The Inpatient Therapy team supports Discharge to Assess pathway and the role is crucial to ensure Therapy teams receive the clinical support and leadership to facilitate discharge and maintain Length of stay.

This is an exciting time to join the Perry Tree Centre. The service currently provides up to 64 intermediate care beds across two floors and plays a key role in the ongoing reconfiguration of our locality-based care model.

The Centre has recently been at the forefront of innovation, including the introduction of falls technology within the service. There is also on-site support from the Occupational Therapy Lead, providing excellent opportunities for multidisciplinary working and professional development.

The team works collaboratively across both wards and is currently involved in a significant transformation programme with our local authority partners.

About You

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated and enthusiastic about positively impacting the discharge experience for patients, families, carers and staff, whilst ensuring that people leave the inpatient setting in an appropriate and timely manner.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
