Job Title: Band 7 Radiographer

We are looking for committed and motivated radiographers who are skilled in MRI and/or CT and who can contribute to the delivery of safe, high-quality imaging services within a busy community setting.

Responsibilities:

• Rotate across both modalities, provide senior clinical support within the department, manage the work area when required and offer professional advice and supervision to radiographers, students and radiographic assistants.
• Maintain safe clinical standards, support patient flow, review image quality and contribute to the daily running of CT and MRI services.
• Contribute to the development of radiology services across the Trust, supporting audit, quality assurance, training and service improvement.
• Take on line management responsibilities, including rostering, appraisal, staff development, performance management and sickness absence management.
• Deliver high-quality MRI and CT examinations, ensuring appropriate patient preparation, positioning, image quality and adherence to departmental protocols.
• Assess imaging referrals, act as an IR(ME)R Operator and work within delegated Practitioner responsibilities where applicable.
• Administer IV contrast, including cannulation, use of pressure injectors and assessment of patient suitability for contrast examinations.
• Maintain ILS competency and provide an immediate response to clinical emergencies, including recognising deterioration and initiating appropriate emergency care.
• Provide senior clinical support and leadership within the department, including supervising junior radiographers, students and radiographic assistants.
• Review image quality, identify urgent or unexpected findings and ensure appropriate escalation before the patient leaves the department.
• Support audit, equipment quality assurance, protocol review, staff training and service development across CT and MRI.
• Support the day-to-day running of the service, including workforce allocation, maintaining patient flow and working within the six-day shift rota.
• Contribute to appraisals, staff development, recruitment and line management activities where required.
